What to Check Before Scanning

QClaw is not a standalone phone app

QClaw runs on your computer. Mobile WeChat is the control surface: it scans the binding QR code, sends commands, and receives replies. If the computer is offline, asleep, or blocked by a firewall, WeChat commands will not have anywhere to run.

This distinction matters for searchers looking for a “WeChat AI assistant download.” You are not looking for a mobile installer. You need the desktop setup path first, then the WeChat binding step.

Before binding, check these items

Use the current desktop setup path

Start from the QClaw download page and confirm the current macOS or Windows setup instructions. Avoid unknown installer packages from random mirrors or chat groups.

Keep the desktop app open

Open QClaw, wait until the binding screen is fully loaded, and keep your computer awake. Scanning too early can make the phone side look successful while the desktop side is not ready.

Refresh expired QR codes

If the QR code has been sitting on screen for a while, close the binding window and generate a fresh one. Re-scanning an expired code is a common waste of time.

Check firewall, proxy, and network rules

Corporate networks, school Wi-Fi, VPNs, and security tools may block the desktop app. A quick test is to switch the computer to a mobile hotspot and try binding again.

Review system permissions

On macOS, check Privacy & Security prompts. On Windows, review firewall permissions and security app alerts. QClaw may need permission later to access files, browser actions, or automation tasks.

Send a small test command after binding

After binding, do not begin with a large automation task. Send one short message first so you can confirm the WeChat-to-desktop connection is alive.

If this works, try a slightly more practical command. If it does not, restart QClaw, check whether the computer is awake, and refresh the binding code.
